Disapointing Loss in Denver

The Los Angeles Lakers couldn't pull off the weekend sweep of the Denver Nuggets, falling to them 99-90.

The Lakers went away from its formula of feeding the ball to the bigs, with Kobe Bryant hogging the ball for most of the night. Bryant went 6-28 from the court with 16 points.

With such a bad shooting night from Kobe, the big men – Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol – had to be well utilized, but the guards seemed to have forgotten how to pass the ball. Regardless, Gasol still managed to score 20 points, with Bynum adding 18 more.

In my opinion, this loss can be squarely put on Kobe. He is the leader of this team – he should know when he can put up points and when he has to be the distributor. The nonfactors of forward Matt Barnes and pint guard Derek Fisher also played a small role in the loss.

The bench also didn't play well as a unit. Troy Murphy, Jason Kapono, and Josh McRoberts were pretty much useless. The trio amassed a combined total of 6 points.
