I'm back!!!!!! Sorry I've been really busy with school & have been dealin' with personal demons. I'm okay though, and that's what matters
Now, lets talk about the Los Angeles Lakers. They are second in the Western Conference at the moment (12-2) behind San Antonio (12-1).
The biggest surprise isn't their record - I don't give a fuck that they are a 1/2 game behind the damn Spurs, 12-2 is still beasty - but the person who has been leading the team. Of course Kobe is and will be the team's superstar, but PF-C Pau Gasol has been ridiculously good.
Pau has averaged 22.8 point per game (PPG), 12.1 rebounds per game (RPG), 4.1 assists per game (APG), and 1.7 blocks per game (BPG). That's crazy-good when you you look at its entirety. So we can compare, Kobe averaging 25.6 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 4.8 APG, and .2 BPG (but lets remember Kobe is a guard & really shouldn't blocking shots).
Pau is a fuckin' beast. Ther's no other way to explain it. If the Laker's repeat, it will have to do to a lot with Mr. Gasol.
Other Lakers stepping it up: Shannon Brown (11.1 PPG) and Lamar Odom (14.6). I'm not surprised about L.O.; I know he can out these numbers up. The surprise here is Shannon. He really stepped up, especially with his perimeter shooting with 51% so far this season.
I bid you all farewell.
